We believe that studying another language is an opportunity to learn more about another culture and broaden your outlook on the world. It also helps children to learn more about their native tongue and the technical aspects of building sentences, using tenses, spelling and pronunciation.
Our chosen Modern Foreign Language is French. Children study this from Y3 to Y6. Throughout KS2, our children learn to understand and communicate simple ideas, facts and feelings in speech and in writing.
We use a whole suite of engaging materials from the 'Language Angels' programme that build confidence through games and song. The children's iPads also help them to build fluency and confidence.

We also strive to teach children how to communicate visually using Makaton or British Sign Language.
