After-School and Breakfast Club

Welcome to Prescot Primary School's After School and Breakfast Clubs, a safe and secure place where children can play, learn, grow and build relationships.

Both of our clubs are very popular and children tell us they love coming to them.  It’s a place where our committed staff get to share a unique learning journey with children that is fun, exciting and varied.  Our clubs are fully resourced and meet the differing needs of all children from across the school (Reception to Y6 inclusive).   We have great relationships with our parents and communicate with them regularly through Twitter, enabling them to share children's personal experiences in the club.  Parents tell us that the clubs enable them to leave their children in an environment where they feel safe, respected, stimulated and above all happy.

Information below briefly outlines the details of each club, but we highly recommend that you come for a visit and see the clubs for yourself, when COVID regulations allow .  Come and share a healthy snack with us and have a play:)

If you require any information about the clubs, please contact the manager, Mrs Kath Boadey at

Breakfast Club

Our 3 permanent members of staff open Breakfast Club at 7:30 am each day and offer children a variety of cereals, toast and jams together with a choice of milk, water or juice to drink.  A choice of fruit is also available and is plentiful.  After eating, children choose to play with a wide variety of toys available in the club such as lego, building blocks, dolls and craft activities.  Resources are rotated daily to engage all children throughout the week. When school begins, younger children are escorted from the club direct to class, whilst the older children and accompanied to class by staff at 8:40 ready for the school day.

Breakfast Club costs £3.00 per day and is paid weekly via the school Arbor App. All sessions must be booked and paid for in advance. If an emergency place is required, please contact the main school office ASAP on 0151 432 7100. We can then discuss your requirements.

After School Club

Children arrive to the club at 3.15.  Younger children are again escorted directly to the club whereas older children are guided by their class teachers.  As children arrive they are encouraged to hang up their own coats and bags and wash their hands ready for snack.  Thereafter, they choose their snack which has been prepared by the School Catering Staff in accordance with the Healthy Schools Directive.  Choices consist of hot and cold foods such as wraps, sandwiches, bagels, paninis, pasta, soup, fruit, yoghurts, salads and even occasionally healthy cake!!  After snack, children can use the continuous provision of resources available both inside and outside (weather permitting).  Our three members of qualified staff with paediatric or first aid training supervise the children during their play and plan activities that are seasonal and of interest to the children.  The range of equipment and resources available offer children physical, creative, imaginative and exploratory play experiences designed to engage their enquiring minds.  Quiet areas are also available for children who like to read, need peace or take a nap!

We are pleased to offer two sessions for collection from our After School Club:-

  • Collection before 5pm is £7.00 per session
  • Collection before 5:30pm is £8.50 per session.

NB:  For safeguarding reasons, all sessions MUST be booked in advance.

We try our best to accommodate requests made on the day and haven’t turned any child away, yet! We are always happy to discuss your requirements.

During each club we ensure that all dietary, religious and medical needs are adhered to together with any particular educational, social or emotional need of the children in our care.

The ethos of the clubs echo those of the school and our enthusiastic staff take great pride in everything they do and are passionate about extending children’s experiences outside the school day.  We believe this philosophy and partnerships with parents are what helps us to stand out from other local providers.

We hope to see you soon.
