Welcome!
As another busy and memorable school year draws to a close, we are delighted to share some of the wonderful things that have been happening across our school community.
The final few weeks have been packed with exciting events, celebrations, performances, visits and opportunities for our children to shine. It has been wonderful to see so many examples of our children showing botheredness - being bothered about themselves, each other and our school community as they prepare to move on to their next adventure. Whether that means starting a new year group, moving into Key Stage 2 or taking the exciting step up to secondary school, they have approached these changes with maturity, kindness and resilience.
We are incredibly proud of all that our children have achieved this year. Their enthusiasm for learning, willingness to support one another and determination to always try their best continue to make our school such a special place.
We hope you enjoy reading about some of the highlights from the end of the year, and we would like to thank all of our families for your continued support. Together, we truly are empowering today to prepare for tomorrow.

Goodbyes
This term, we say a heartfelt farewell to Mr George after 22 years of inspirational leadership at our school.
Throughout his time here, Mr George has led with vision, courage and dedication, always putting children at the heart of every decision. He has never been afraid to challenge the status quo if it meant protecting what matters most - the special quality of childhood and ensuring every child experienced a school life filled with enjoyment, opportunity and belonging.
Long before many schools recognised the potential of educational technology, Mr George embraced innovation, seeing how it could enrich teaching, deepen learning and prepare children for an ever-changing world. His forward-thinking approach has helped shape our school into the creative, nurturing and ambitious place it is today.
Mr George's commitment to our children, families and staff has been constant, and his passion for education has inspired everyone who has had the privilege of working alongside him. While he will be greatly missed, he leaves behind a dedicated team who are proud to continue building on the vision and values he has established.
We wish him every happiness and adventure in his retirement.
Our school will also be saying goodbye to Miss Grensinger, our Y4 teacher, and Miss Lathaen, our Y2 teacher, as they set off on new life adventures. Thank you for investing in our children during your time at PCP.
Goodbye also to Miss Myers, a fabulous TA, and Miss Adair, a valued face in our Admin Team.

EYFS Update
As we come to the end of another wonderful year in Nursery and Reception, we want to celebrate just how much the children have grown. It has been a privilege to watch them flourish, becoming more confident, curious, resilient, and independent. This year has been filled with laughter, learning, new friendships, and many special memories, and we are incredibly proud of all they have achieved.
To our Reception children, we wish you every success as you begin your exciting journey into Year 1. To our Nursery children, we look forward to welcoming many of you back in September, and we wish those moving on to different schools the very best of luck in their new adventures.
Thank you to all our families for your kindness, encouragement, and continued support throughout the year, it has made such a difference. We wish you all a happy, restful summer and look forward to welcoming familiar and new faces to our Nursery and Reception community in September.

Celebrating 30 Years of Apple Distinguished Schools
We were delighted to be invited to represent our school at the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Apple Distinguished Schools programme, held at the beautiful Royal Grammar School Worcester, which is also proud to be an Apple Distinguished School.
The Apple Distinguished School (ADS) programme recognises schools around the world that are using Apple technology to create innovative, engaging and meaningful learning experiences. It is much more than a badge of recognition - it is a global community of schools committed to continually improving teaching and learning through creativity, collaboration and purposeful use of technology.
Being part of this network gives us the opportunity to connect with like-minded schools, not only across the UK but also internationally. Sharing ideas, learning from one another and celebrating great practice helps us ensure that our pupils continue to benefit from the very best educational experiences.
During the event, we explored exciting new approaches to teaching mathematics, alongside innovative ways of using iPads to enhance teaching and learning across the curriculum. It was inspiring to see how schools are using technology to encourage deeper thinking, creativity, collaboration and independence, and we are looking forward to bringing many of these ideas back into our own classrooms.
We are incredibly proud to be part of the Apple Distinguished School community and remain committed to using technology thoughtfully and purposefully to empower today and prepare for tomorrow.

CONSERVATION PROJECT NO 8
Welcome to the magical land of Prescot Primary school! Here is where we stand up for our withering globe! Can you believe this is our eighth conservation project? Little by little, hand by hand we are helping our world wide community. You have a golden opportunity to help us in unity EVERY SECOND COUNTS!!!
We have strutted down the catwalk with pride in our clothes that have gladly been upcycled and designed . Nursery to Y6 all pitched in as we have made t-shirts with creative messages , tops that have been reused into bags , designed hats , and crafted water bottle holders which have all decorated our precious hall so our carers and adults could hear our important message about sustainability.
We take this kindly and close to our hearts. We have been very hard workers - like bees in a hive as we have learned about the ups and downs of our Earth as we grow . Yes it’s hard but it's all worth it in the end .
While we protest, Ghana and many other countries are suffering more and more because we are not treasuring what we are given . They go into a horrible landfill that has been washed up by the bay . While others are ripped, torn and unwearable so they can not be sold and that's why we need to have more empathy and responsibility . Although half of the population is having self control and standing up for what's right many others are wearing and using things once instead of repeatedly!!
More people helping equals less items heading to landfill . You need to start LOVING IT FOR LONGER! Be bothered, have empathy, be heard !

Prescot Pilots
What an incredible summer term it has been for our Prescot Pilots! We have had 77 children from Nursery to Reception take part, completing an amazing 5,758 hours of activities.
We are so proud of every child who has got involved, tried something new and developed their interests beyond the classroom. A huge thank you to all of our parents and carers for supporting and encouraging their children to experience such a wide range of activities and hobbies. Your enthusiasm and commitment have helped make Prescot Pilots such a fantastic success!
School Clubs
Our school clubs have also had another brilliant year, with children enjoying a wonderful range of activities, from judo and archery to arts and crafts and reading club.
We would like to give a very special thank you to all of the teachers who have generously given up their own free time to run a club. These clubs are unpaid, and the time, energy and enthusiasm staff contribute make a real difference to our children by providing them with exciting opportunities beyond the school day.
We are incredibly grateful for their dedication and for helping to make school life at Prescot Primary even more enjoyable.

After School Club & Breakfast Club
As another fantastic school year comes to an end, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all of our wonderful children and families for making Breakfast Club and After School Club such happy, welcoming places to be. We've had an amazing year filled with laughter, fun activities, new friendships and special memories that we know will stay with the children for years to come. We are incredibly proud of our fantastic staff team, who work so hard every day to create a caring, nurturing environment. They are always ready with a smile, a listening ear and a friendly chat, and we'd like to thank all of our parents and families for the trust, kindness and support you've shown us throughout the year. A special goodbye and good luck goes to our Year 6 children and their families as they begin an exciting new chapter—we wish you every happiness and success in your new schools. We also look forward to welcoming our new families in September and can't wait to meet you! We're especially excited to make the most of our new OPAL project facilities, which will help us enhance our outdoor provision even further, giving the children even more opportunities to explore, play and have fun in both Breakfast Club and After School Club. Wishing everyone a safe, relaxing and fun-filled summer holiday. We can't wait to see you all again in September!

Important club Information: Booking windows for all existing children who currently attend our clubs will open from 31st July 2026.
New Nursery and Reception Children will be able to start our After School Club and/or Breakfast Club from 14th September 2026, after all class transition days are complete.
We have a pre-arranged induction meeting taking place on Monday 7th September at 3:30pm with Mrs Boadey for any new parents, please email for further information if you would like to attend.

Glenbuck to Glenbuck - Charity Walk
As you all know, we treasure our partnership with Glenbuck Juniors, who are proud to call Prescot Primary their home. We would love you to get behind a charity walk that their Club Secretary, Jon, is doing in August.
Here is what they have to say:
Glenbuck Juniors is a community football club based in Prescot, Merseyside. We provide free football for over 120 kids between the ages of 5 and 17.
We don't charge subs and signing on fees so we have to undertake the occasional crazy venture to raise funds to upgrade our facilities and carry on providing free football for our families.
Our club secretary is undertaking our biggest, madcap idea to date...
A walk from Glenbuck, East Ayrshire to Glenbuck Juniors, Merseyside! That's a total of 205 miles! Why is he doing it? Well, he just likes walking and we need to improve facilities at our home venue for our players, coaches, volunteers and visitors.
Please consider supporting us and help us to continue providing free access to football because no child should be excluded from a sport they love because they can't afford it. Thank you!

Thank You for Supporting Our School Fund
A huge thank you to all of our families who have generously supported our School Fund throughout the year. Your contributions really do make a difference and help us provide opportunities and resources that go beyond our school budget.
This year, your donations have enabled us to invest in a range of outdoor storage to support the launch of our new OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme, which we are excited to introduce in September. These new resources will help us create richer, more imaginative play experiences for all of our children.
We have also invested in a wonderful new outdoor Therapy Hut - a calm, nurturing space that will support children's wellbeing. We are looking forward to developing this area even further alongside the children, ensuring it becomes a place where they feel safe, valued and ready to thrive.

Goodbye Penguins
It doesn't seem possible that the time has come to say goodbye to our amazing Year 6s, our Perfect Penguins. What a year it has been! They have filled our school with laughter, kindness, determination and so many memories that we will treasure for years to come.
We've shared unforgettable trips, taken on exciting projects, proudly represented our school on television and, just the other day, watched them light up the room with their hilarious and brilliant catwalk, reminding us all just how much confidence, personality and joy they bring wherever they go. They have grown into thoughtful, resilient and caring young people who have made us proud every single day. Although we are so excited to see what the future holds for each of them, saying goodbye is never easy. Thank you, Perfect Penguins, for making this year, and the last 7 years, so special and for leaving your mark on our school in the very best way. We hope you leave Prescot Primary with wonderful memories, lifelong friendships and the confidence to chase every dream. Remember, no matter where life takes you next, you will always be one of our Perfect Penguins, and you will always have a place in the Prescot Primary family. Good luck, Year 6.

Reading Update
Here we are again at the end of another incredible year of reading at Prescot Primary. We have celebrated targets met, words read and confidence built. We have watched our library expand yet again as we add to our huge collection of diverse, contemporary and relevant books (thank you again to all our families who have donated well-cared for and well-loved books for us all to enjoy). We have encouraged reluctant readers and watched in amazement at the unprecedented achievements of others. And above all we have enjoyed every second and we are ready to do it all again next year.
We wish you happy reading over the holidays and we’ll see you in September.

School Building Improvements
We have a busy summer ahead of us, with plenty of contractors on site to bring our aging building back to life!
We will be making some exciting improvements to our school entrance and office area to create a safer, more welcoming and accessible environment for everyone.
A new glass partition wall will be installed to divide the office into clearly defined zones. This will improve security by creating a more controlled reception area while still maintaining an open, bright and friendly feel for visitors. The changes will help ensure that access to the main school building is even more carefully managed, enhancing the safety of both our children and staff.
As part of the project, we will also be creating a new accessible visitor toilet and a dedicated meeting area, providing a more comfortable and private space to meet with families and visitors.
These improvements will make our entrance area safer, more spacious and better equipped to welcome our school community. We are looking forward to unveiling the completed space in September.
Alongside this, we hope to have a new, higher security fence erected around the middle playground and also new carpets in many classrooms and corridors.

Rowan Learning Trust Oracy Celebration
Our Year 4 children recently joined pupils from across the Rowan Learning Trust for a fantastic Trust-wide Oracy Celebration at Whitley Primary School.
The day was all about learning, practising and performing poetry, with expert support from The Keynote Club, who inspired the children to develop their confidence, expression and speaking and listening skills through a range of fun, interactive activities.
Each school performed its own poem, with our pupils (Dougie, Georgia and Shawn) proudly presenting The Broken Planet, before everyone came together for a powerful collaborative performance of The Russian Doll. It was wonderful to see the children speaking with such confidence and enthusiasm while celebrating the power of words and performance.
Bringing children together from across the Trust to celebrate oracy in such an engaging way was a real highlight, and we hope this will become an annual event that continues to inspire confident communicators across all our schools.

Changes in Pupil Leadership
Our Year 6 pupils have now proudly handed over their leadership roles to the next generation of pupil leaders. From Botheredness Leads to House Captains, Sports Leaders to Digital Leaders and the many other important responsibilities across school, they have led with kindness, commitment and enthusiasm, setting a wonderful example for everyone around them. They leave behind enormous shoes to fill, and we know our new Zebra Leaders will do their very best to follow in the footsteps of such an inspiring group. We wish them every success as they begin their leadership journey and have been impressed when watching them training over the last few weeks of term.
