JULY 2024

Welcome!

We don't know about you, but we all feel that this year has absolutely flown over! We zoomed through autumn term, with our trips to local landmarks, peasants' revolts, 'magic postbox' walks, nativities, Talent Shows and Christmas Markets. Then came spring term where we had WW2 sirens and Stone-Age hunters filling the school. Kingswood, Bake-Off and World Book Day are other high points. And summer term - always filled to the brim with learning and activities: Sports Week, Careers Showcase, PSHE Conferences, welcome meetings, celebrations and graduations - and not forgetting our fabulous Songbird Conservation Project.

We cannot thank you all enough for keeping up with us throughout another busy and engaging year.

Read on to learn more about recent events.

Goodbye and Good Luck!

We are so sad to be losing one of our long-standing LSAs. Miss Ellen will be leaving us alongside her PCPKangaroos to complete her degree and hopefully join us in the teaching profession. As a former pupil, it has been a joy to see Miss Ellen bring smiles to the children's faces, being their biggest advocate and support. We will miss her creativity, her compassion and her enthusiasm for absolutely everything. TEAMPCP through and through.

We will also be saying goodbye to Miss Abbott, who has worked as an LSA all across school. She, too, has been a fantastic support to our children, especially those in Y2 Pandas this year. We wish Miss Abbott well as she moves onto her next adventure!

Early Years Update

It is the end of another fabulous adventure for our early years children. This week are littlest learners, our nursery children, graduated ready to start their adventure in full-time school. It was a lovely occasion and it was great to celebrate it with their families. We are delighted that all of our Nursery children will be joining us in reception next year and cannot wait to continue to watch them grow and learn. We’ve had so many wonderful experiences with all of our early years children and are confident that as they move into their next class they are well-prepared.

Exciting times - the development of The Bridge! We have used some school funds to develop the atrium space between Reception and Year 1, to provide the children with more spaces to explore and learn.  This space is especially great for our Year 1 children as they make the transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage play-based curriculum to the National Curriculum in Key Stage One.  Year 1 children still have opportunities to engage in play, but it is more structured though planned ‘Explore and Learn’ time.

There will be a welcome meeting early on in September for you to find out more.

Breakfast Club (Early Birds) and After School Club (Night Owls)

What a wonderful year we have had in ASC & BC.  Our children have shown us every day how imaginative, creative and playful they are and we have been very privileged to share these experiences with them.  For some of them, it is time to leave us, and we extend a huge “Good Luck" to those Y6 children and
