After-School and Breakfast Club

Welcome to Prescot Primary School's After School and Breakfast Clubs, a safe and secure place where children can play, learn, grow and build relationships.

Both of our clubs are very popular and children tell us they love coming to them.  It’s a place where our committed staff get to share a unique learning journey with children that is fun, exciting and varied.  Our clubs are fully resourced and meet the differing needs of all children from across the school (Nursery to Y6 inclusive).   We have great relationships with our parents and communicate with them regularly through X (formerly Twitter), enabling them to share children's personal experiences in the club.  Parents tell us that the clubs enable them to leave their children in an environment where they feel safe, respected, stimulated and above all, happy.

Information below briefly outlines the details of each club, but we highly recommend that you come for a visit and see the clubs for yourself.  Come and share a healthy snack with us and have a play:)

If you require any information about the clubs, please contact the manager, Mrs Kath Boadey at kath.boadey@prescotprimary.org.uk

Breakfast Club:

Doors open at 7:30 am Early Birds (Reception - Y6) & Busy Bees (Nursery)

Busy Bees is the name used to book Nursery Breakfast Club and Early Birds is the name used to book Breakfast Club for all children from Reception - Year 6.  Both clubs are combined and take place together in the canteen with staff members trained in Early Years, Key stages 1 and 2.

Our four permanent members of staff open the Breakfast Club at 7:30 am each day and offer children a variety of cereals, toast, bagels and jams together with a choice of milk, water or fresh juices to drink.  A choice of fruit is also available and is plentiful.  After eating, children choose to play with a wide variety of toys available in the club such as Lego, building blocks, dolls and craft activities.  Resources are rotated daily to engage all children throughout the week. When school begins, younger children are escorted from the club directly to class, whilst the older children are accompanied to class by staff at 8:40am ready for the school day.

Early Bird Breakfast Club costs £4.00  per day and Busy Bees Breakfast Club costs £5 per day. Bookings can be made through the Arbor app weekly or half termly to suit your needs but sessions must be booked and paid for a week in advance.

We accept debit card payments and payments from Govt Tax Free Childcare, from Universities who contribute to childcare costs and Employee Voucher Schemes.  Please ask for details.

After School Club:

Open until 5:30 pm Night Owls (Reception to Y6) and Busy Bees (Nursery)

Busy Bees is the name used to book Nursery After School Club and Night Owls is the name used to book After School Club for all children from Reception - Year 6.  Both clubs are combined and take place together in the canteen with staff members trained in Early Years, Key Stages 1 and 2.

Children arrive at the club at 3.15 and must be collected by 5:30 pm when the club closes. Younger children are escorted directly to the club whereas older children are guided by their class teachers.  As children arrive, they are encouraged to hang up their own coats and bags and wash their hands ready for snack.  Thereafter, they choose and serve their own snack (with support) which has been prepared by the School Catering Staff in accordance with the Healthy Schools Directive.  Choices consist of hot and cold foods such as wraps, sandwiches, bagels, beans on toast, hotdogs, paninis, pasta, soup, fruit, yogurts, salad and even - occasionally - healthy cake!!  After snack, children can use the continuous provision of resources available both inside and outside (weather permitting).  Our four members of qualified staff with pediatric or first aid training supervise the children during their play and plan activities that are seasonal and of interest to them.  The range of equipment and resources available offer children physical, creative, imaginative and exploratory play experiences designed to engage their enquiring minds.  Quiet areas are also available for children who like to read, need peace or take a nap!

Night Owls After School Club costs £8.50 per day and Busy Bees After School Club costs £10 per day.  Bookings can be made through the Arbor app weekly or half termly to suit your needs but all sessions must be booked and paid for a week in advance.

We accept debit card payments and payments from Govt Tax Free Childcare, from Universities who contribute to childcare costs and Employee Voucher Schemes.  Please ask for details.

We always try our best to accommodate emergency club requests and are always happy to discuss your requirements.  Please make these by phone via the school office or email Mrs Boadey directly (see below).

During each club we ensure that all dietary, religious and medical needs are adhered to together with any particular educational, social or emotional need of the children in our care.

The ethos of the clubs echo those of the school and our enthusiastic staff take great pride in everything they do and are passionate about extending children’s experiences outside the school day.  We believe this philosophy and partnerships with parents are what help us to stand out from other local providers.

We hope to see you soon.
