Curriculum

Both inside and outside of the classroom, our curriculum offers rich, broad experiences that engage and excite our learners and teachers. Our children are placed at the centre of the curriculum and are encouraged to reflect on and take ownership of their learning from an early age. We want them to become emotionally connected to what they learn - and to make connections within their learning experiences.

The design of our curriculum is rooted in our eight philosphy statements, with 'learning without limits' being a significant foundation stone.

Based on what we know about our children and the futures they face, four key principles run through the curriculum at Prescot Primary:

  • Technology-rich environments
  • Oracy
  • Responsive Teaching
  • Reading for pleasure
